About Nathan
Nathan Gerbe is a former professional ice hockey forward with extensive experience at the collegiate, professional, and international levels. He developed as a young player through Honeybaked Hockey and the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
Nathan played collegiate hockey at Boston College, where he was a key contributor to the 2008 NCAA National Championship team. Following college, he went on to compete in the NHL, playing for the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, and Columbus Blue Jackets. He also gained international experience playing in Switzerland’s top professional league with Genève-Servette HC, expanding his understanding of the game from a global perspective.
Following his playing career, Gerbe transitioned into player development and currently serves as a Player Development Coach with the Nashville Predators, working closely with athletes to support their skill growth, habits, and long-term development.
Nathan is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time coaching and supporting his four young children, all of whom play hockey for local Detroit-area teams. Being actively involved in youth hockey as a parent and coach gives Nathan a firsthand understanding of the developmental journey young athletes and families experience.
This perspective helps shape his approach at Gerbe Elite Performance—balancing high standards and elite expectations with age-appropriate development, encouragement, and a genuine love for the game.
